Isaac Brogan.

Isaac Brogan practises spelling for a couple of hours a day. Not because he has trouble with the subject. It’s because he wanted to get to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

To bee or not to bee

This annual spelling bee started in 1925. It’s grown into a huge competition for students 15 and under. Eleven million kids take part in local and regional spelling bees. But only the best spellers get to the nationals.

They’re held in Washington, D.C. You can watch them live on TV. The winner gets a whopping US $50,000!
