Her curiosity about squirrels earned the Grade 10 student a ticket to the Canada-Wide Science Fair last month.

Why squirrels? Her family came to Canada when Kira was three. In Serbia, squirrels are rare. But in Canada, they’re everywhere! 

“My family and I love squirrels,” says the Guelph teen. “We’ve been obsessed with them.”
