Many teens can’t wait to get a driver’s licence. Eight students at a Yellowknife high school are chasing a different goal. They’re learning to fly.

St. Patrick High School launched a flight school this year. The two-year program allows students to earn a private pilot’s licence while attending high school.

Ground school

Year one is ground school. The teens attend regular classes most of the day. The last period is spent in the classroom at Summit Air.
