A University of Waterloo student found a great solution to a big problem: a way to avoid Canada Geese on the campus.

There are 60,000 breeding pairs of Canada Geese in southern Ontario. The university is home to hundreds of them. They’re big, bold, and fearless. Some are downright aggressive.

Why is the campus such a goose magnet? Its landscaped grounds have plenty of grass to nibble on. There are ponds and lakes to paddle in. Plenty of safe nesting spots. And there aren’t many predators.

It’s the perfect place to raise a gaggle of goslings.
