Churchill, Manitoba is the polar bear capital of the world. Hundreds of these apex predators gather there every fall, waiting for sea ice to form on Hudson Bay. 

In November, the scientists that study them got a big surprise. A polar bear they’d been tracking strolled in with two young cubs in tow.

They could’ve been twins. But they weren’t. One of them was adopted.
