A new Heritage Minute dropped on October 2. It pays tribute to Anne Innis Dagg. This Canadian zoologist was the world’s leading expert on giraffes. She was the first person to study an African animal in the wild.

Her Heritage Minute was released during Women’s History Month. Not just because Dr. Innis Dagg was a groundbreaking female scientist. But also because she fought for women’s rights.

Following a dream

Anne Innis was born in Toronto in 1933. She saw her first giraffe at age three, on a visit to the zoo. She instantly fell in love.
