A terrible ice storm swept through central and southern Ontario at the end of March. Almost a million homes and businesses lost power.
“This is the worst storm we’ve experienced since the ice storm in 1998,” said Hydro One. “The damage is severe and widespread."
The storm begins
The storm started late Friday night. Freezing rain fell for two days, coating everything in two to three centimetres of ice.
