Robots can bring food to restaurant customers. (Photo: Megan Rowley, via Facebook.)

For many teens, working in a fast-food restaurant is a rite of passage. Flipping burgers and making fries. Making pizzas. Serving customers and using a cash register.

But restaurants are changing. More and more are automating jobs that people usually do.

Meet the robots

There’s a robot called “Flippy” that makes burgers. “Chippy” makes fries. “Sippy” pours drinks. “Remy” makes salads – up to 300 an hour!

Domino’s is experimenting with a machine that makes pizzas. A Vancouver Pizza Hut uses a robot to deliver pizzas.
