The Covered Bridge Potato Chips factory went up in flames March 1.
The Hartland, N.B. company is a family business, owned by Ryan and Matt Albright. The two brothers began making kettle chips in 2009. They grow their own potatoes on a 500-acre farm that has been in the family for four generations.
The blaze begins
The fire started in a fryer. It takes a lot of grease to make potato chips, and grease is very flammable. The flames spread quickly.
About 30 people were working at the time. They all got out safely.
